Responsibilities

  • Keep production running safely and smoothly.
  • Help launch new and existing manufacturing technologies and processes by running experiments and collecting data.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities and helping implement solutions.
  • Own documentation by writing experiment/procedure reports and sharing results cross-functionally.
  • Teach manufacturing personnel on new procedures, equipment, materials, and testing standards.

What You'll Do
  • Keep production running safely and smoothly.Support your assigned production area to ensure safe processes, high-quality products, and on-time delivery — with guidance from a manager or senior engineer.
  • Help launch what's next.Assist in evaluating and scaling up new and existing manufacturing technologies and processes, running experiments and collecting data that shapes real product decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement.Spot opportunities to improve process and productivity, then help develop, validate, and roll out the solutions.
  • Own your documentation.Write clear experiment and procedure documentation, and put together experience reports on your design, results, and conclusions to share cross-functionally.
  • Teach what you learn.Train manufacturing personnel on new procedures, equipment, materials, and testing standards as processes evolve.
  • Keep growing.Stay current in your field through seminars, workshops, and continuing education — supported by the company.
  • Champion safety.Follow EH&S guidelines and build a strong understanding of process safety and safe material handling in your area.
What You Bring
Chemical Process Engineer I

Typical requirements for this role include a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent combination of education/experience.

  • A working knowledge of statistical analysis and continuous improvement methods (Six Sigma, Lean)
  • Ability to apply chemistry, thermodynamics, and fluid flow fundamentals to real chromatography applications
  • A safety-first mindset in the lab
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort with spreadsheets, word processing, statistics, and database tools — CAD experience is a plus
Electromechanical Process Engineer I

Typical requirements for this role include a bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent combination of education/experience.

  • Curiosity for troubleshooting electromechanical systems — electrical, mechanical, or software — alongside a senior engineer or manager
  • Proficiency with relevant software: CAD (Solidworks preferred), EDA (Altium preferred), and programming environments/languages
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methods (Six Sigma, Lean)
  • Familiarity with manufacturing techniques such as:
    • Machined components, CNC, 3D printing, mechanical assembly
    • Electronic component sourcing, SMT, test, and electronic assembly
    • Software/firmware environments and code deployment
  • Exposure to electronic device compliance and certification (CE, CSA, JA, UL) is a plus
  • Strong computer skills and excellent written and verbal communication

This position has been approved for a hybrid work arrangement

This position will require the successful completion of a standard background check in accordance with Restek policy. Employment with Restek will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
