Job summary

Flex is a diversified manufacturing partner supporting market‑leading brands from design to delivery. The Process Engineer will be based in Buffalo Grove, IL, reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, coordinating manufacturing processes and providing technical support for development, implementation, and maintenance of systems per project requirements.

Qualifications

B.S. in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience working in a medical manufacturing or other highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering experience in high‑volume assembly processes.
Knowledge of automated equipment systems and tools - robotics, vision, material handling/part feeding systems, conveyors, ultrasonic welding, foil sealing, HMI/PLC controls.
Travel required – 5%.

Responsibilities

Define and implement manufacturing systems appropriate for customer applications.
Support manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, Yield, Scrap and Downtime.
Establish and improve robust, repeatable, and reproducible process parameters.
Identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process.
Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues with high‑speed automated equipment.
Provide equipment maintenance and repair support as required.
Develop, implement, and take ownership of process control methodologies.
Participate in cycle time and process improvements.
Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
