Job summary

Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials Composites Canada Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer in Reading, PA to drive manufacturing improvements and support safety, quality, efficiency, and profitability across operations.

You will troubleshoot hands-on, lead process improvement projects, and collaborate with global R&D teams to enhance manufacturing methods, tooling, and material usage. Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• 2–4 years of process engineering or polymer processing experience preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) strongly preferred.
• Experience with Statistics, DOE, and process optimization.
• Strong project management and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office tools.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with production teams to improve processes, methods, and operating conditions.
• Provide day-to-day troubleshooting support to resolve production issues quickly and effectively.
• Review production performance (safety, quality, scrap, rework) and implement corrective actions.
• Lead projects to design, justify, and implement new equipment and capital expenditures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase yield, reduce cycle time, and optimize costs.
• Develop, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Audit tooling processes, inventory, and quality; ensure compliance with procedures.
• Obtain quotes, write Capital Expense Requests (CERs), and oversee installation of equipment/tooling.
• Collaborate with global R&D teams on process improvements and product development efforts.
• Act as a leader on the production floor, modeling company culture and safety standards.
