Job summary

Manpower Group (USA) is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to join a manufacturing team in Sanford. The role centers on continuous improvement, Lean tools, and collaboration with cross-functional groups to raise quality, productivity, and efficiency.

You will develop work instructions, lead 5S/SMED initiatives, support equipment installation and process validation, and contribute to safety and maintenance programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • At least 1 year of process/manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies.
  • Hands-on problem-solving approach with mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across departments and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop work instructions, visual aids, and process documentation to support production and quality standards.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools (5S, SMED, value stream mapping).
  • Analyze workflows, conduct time studies, and identify efficiency/cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Assist with equipment installation, setup, and process validation activities.
  • Train supervisors and team members on new processes, procedures, and product changes.
  • Support plant safety initiatives and compliance efforts.
  • Maintain production data, routings, and Bills of Operations.
  • Coordinate TPM and preventive maintenance activities.
