Job summary

Slate is seeking a Process Engineer, Closures & Bonding to design, implement, and optimize coating and bonding processes on the production line at the Warsaw, Indiana site. The role focuses on improving efficiency, quality, safety, and overall process performance.

You will lead process design, perform optimization and risk assessments, establish quality standards, and provide technical support to staff while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Process Engineering for Coating or Bonding, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of experience in Fanuc closure cell automation.
• Prefer some experience in PTED (Pre-Treat Electro-Deposition) and/or Bonding (Metal to Plastic).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Process Design and Optimization: Develop and implement systems and strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs in the coating and bonding process.
• Quality Control: Establish and maintain quality standards for the coating and bonding process; monitor performance and ensure compliance.
• Technical Support: Provide training and support to staff; troubleshoot issues; collaborate with other departments for seamless integration of new processes.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure safety and environmental regulation compliance; document processes; prepare reports for senior management.
