Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor's program in chemical engineering or industrial engineering.
• Self-starter; quickly understands and follows directions.
• Proactive with high initiative and able to perform with minimal supervision.
• Experience in Root Cause Analysis and troubleshooting.
• Positive, proactive attitude with high initiative.
• Able to travel limitedly to other sites as needed.
• Good technical aptitude and analytical skills.
• Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel).
• SAP or another ERP system experience a plus.
• Team player and strong interpersonal skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Presents a positive, professional impression of Carmeuse.

Responsibilities

• Identify production bottlenecks, develop action plans and assess results.
• Assist Process Engineer with designs, support, research and calculations.
• Provide technical support to production, maintenance, environmental, and quality.
• Monitor process reliability to define paybacks for improvements.
• Document process problems and review results with plant team to implement solutions.
• Conduct process and energy audits to identify cost-saving opportunities with hands-on measurements.
• Track raw material analysis for optimal fuel and stone use with cost-benefit calculations.
• Monitor stone quality, size and gradation and relate fuel quality to product quality.
• Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and manuals.
• Miscellaneous reporting: heat/mass balance, downtime, field measurements, production and greenhouse gas expulsion.
