Job summary

Carmeuse is seeking a 6-month, full-time Automation Engineer Co-Op in Pittsburgh to support automation projects and the automation team during conceptual design and basic engineering development. The role includes document generation, validation, drawing creation, updates and storage, and routine problem resolution, working with plant staff and cross-functional teams.

The Co-Op emphasizes hands-on development through three learning strategies: mentorship from the Process & Automation Manager,

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, computer science/engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
Associate's degree in Engineering/Computer Science acceptable.
Familiarity with PLC programming languages favored.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

Discuss or interpret design concepts with engineers to determine requirements for detailed drawings.
Interact with plant team members, process engineers, project managers, and contractors to share best practices.
Meet Carmeuse safety, environmental, reliability, and cost control expectations.
Assist with troubleshooting and performance improvements of electrical systems.
