Job summary

MLC is seeking a Process Engineering Co-Op to gain real-world experience improving plant performance and safety. You’ll work with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance to analyze data, perform calculations, and support capital projects in a heavy industrial setting.

You’ll develop skills in process optimization, reporting, and cross-functional teamwork, with opportunities for growth and advancement within a global lime products leader.

Qualifications

• Sophomore standing or higher pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related engineering.
• Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing, mining, and chemical processing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following all safety and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze production, quality, and operational data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist with engineering calculations, process evaluations, and performance studies.
• Participate in troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis investigations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, reliability, and productivity.
• Assist with capital and plant improvement projects, including field inspections and startup activities.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams to support plant objectives.
• Participate in plant trials and evaluate results to support data-driven decision making.
• Develop reports, recommendations, and presentations for engineering and plant leadership.
