Software Placement Group is seeking a Process Engineer for a Bend, Oregon area facility to join a high-purity batch chemical manufacturing team. You’ll participate across process optimization, quality engineering, product launches, and capital projects to drive growth.

The role requires a BS in Chemical Engineering and 3–5 years in chemicals or pharmaceuticals, with strong PSM exposure, process troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration.

Location: Bend, Oregon area | Schedule: Full-time, on-site | Compensation: $110,000 to $130,000/yr base salary, depending on experience level

Overview

A high-purity batch chemical manufacturing facility with roughly 100 employees in Central Oregon is seeking a Process Engineer to join its collaborative team of engineers and scientists. This role offers broad exposure across process optimization, quality engineering, new product launches, and capital projects, with strong potential for growth as the company continues to expand.

What you'll do

• Support process optimization, improvement, and troubleshooting efforts
• Conduct quality engineering and root-cause analysis
• Support new product launches, production trials, and product testing
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, EHS, quality, and development teams
• Help define process requirements and support equipment improvements
• Contribute to capital project efforts
• Create or update SOPs, batch records, BOMs, and related manufacturing documentation

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
• 3-5 years of post-college industry experience in chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or a closely related manufacturing environment
• Experience in an engineering role supporting manufacturing, process improvement, product development, or commercial-scale chemical operations
• Experience working in a Process Safety Management (PSM) regulated environment or direct familiarity with PSM standards and program elements
• Strong background in process optimization, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis
• Ability to support quality engineering efforts and help identify and implement process improvements
• Experience supporting new product launches, production trials, and product testing
• Ability to work cross-functionally with production, maintenance, EHS, quality, and development teams
• Ability to help define process requirements, support equipment improvements, and contribute to capital project efforts
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work effectively in team-based, collaborative environments

Preferred qualifications

• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments, or other process validation and characterization tools
• Experience creating or updating SOPs, batch records, BOMs, or related manufacturing documentation
• Familiarity with PLC and/or DCS control systems
