Job summary

Formosa Plastics Group is seeking a Process Engineer to support the VCM plant's daily operations and contribute to production, quality, safety, and cost reporting goals. The role focuses on designing and implementing process equipment and systems to improve efficiency, energy usage, and environmental performance.

Requirements include a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry and at least two years of related experience, with emphasis on design and startup activities within chemical

Qualifications

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry is required.
• Two years of work experience in the offered job or related expansions/chemistry roles.

Responsibilities

• Design an ethylene dichloride cracking furnace for vinyl chloride monomer production.
• Design and implement a heat recovery vaporizer to reduce water and energy use.
• Design and implement an oxy reactor train to improve efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
• Design and implement a wastewater stripping tower to enhance pollutant removal.
• Design and implement a cooling water tower to improve heat transfer and re-use water.
• Design and implement a relief valve discharge system to improve incinerator operation.
• Design and test a hydrochloric acid production incinerator.
• Design and implement a heavy ends column heat recovery system and perform HAZOP analysis.
