Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A. is seeking a Process Engineer to support the VCM plant's daily operations and meet production, quality, safety, and budget goals. The role involves process design, energy recovery, and start-up/shutdown projects to drive cost efficiency and reliability.

Qualified candidates hold a B.S. in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry and have about 2 years of related experience, with the ability to collaborate across teams in a demanding industrial environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry is required.
• 2 years of work experience in the offered job or related Expansion Engineer/ Chemist role.

Responsibilities

• Design an ethylene dichloride cracking furnace for vinyl chloride monomer production.
• Design and implement a heat recovery vaporizer to reduce water and energy use.
• Design and implement an oxy reactor train to improve efficiency and lower costs.
• Design a wastewater stripping tower to enhance pollutant removal.
• Design a cooling water tower to improve heat transfer and water reuse.
• Design a relief valve discharge system to improve incinerator performance.
• Design and test a hydrochloric acid production incinerator.
• Design and implement a heavy ends column heat recovery system and perform HAZOP.
