Job summary

CompoSecure in Somerset, NJ seeks a hands-on Process Engineer to support yield improvement, production troubleshooting, and new product introduction in a fast-paced 24/7 manufacturing environment.

You will work the afternoon shift (3 PM–11 PM) and occasionally other shifts, developing SOPs, training materials, and KPI monitoring with cross‑functional teams to drive cost, quality and throughput.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering.
• 5+ years in a high-volume manufacturing environment (24/7 preferred).
• Proven yield improvement, root cause analysis and process troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with NPI processes, including process validation and production readiness.
• Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, SPC and process control methodologies.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, JMP) and MES/ERP systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across shifts and functions.
• Willingness to work the afternoon shift (3 PM - 11 PM) and cover other shifts as needed.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing (e.g., automotive, aerospace, electronics, medical).
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean certification.
• Hands-on experience with automation, sensors, or high-throughput equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time process support for production teams on the afternoon shift, ensuring minimal downtime and swift issue resolution.
• Analyze and improve yields, identifying root causes of scrap and variance through data-driven methods.
• Lead or support NPI activities, including process validation and ramp-up readiness.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance and Operations to drive cost, efficiency and throughput improvements.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, process documentation, and training materials.
• Support Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and improve process control.
• Monitor KPIs for yield, cycle time, downtime and quality with regular reporting.
• Participate in audits, customer visits and internal reviews as a technical SME.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory standards.
