Job summary

CompoSecure, L.L.C. is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to drive yield improvements and support 24/7 high-volume manufacturing. You will troubleshoot production issues, validate new processes, develop work instructions, and ramp up new products in a fast-paced environment.

Based in Somerset, NJ, this on-site role requires Lean and Six Sigma expertise, data-driven problem solving, and collaboration across Quality, Maintenance, and Operations to achieve cost efficiency and throughput goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent field).
• Minimum 5 years in a high-volume manufacturing environment (24/7 preferred).
• Proven experience in yield improvement and root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with NPI processes including process validation and production readiness.
• Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, SPC and related methods.
• Proficiency with data tools (Excel, Minitab, JMP) and manufacturing systems (MES, ERP).
• Excellent communication and collaboration across shifts and teams.
• Willingness to work the 11 PM–7 AM shift and support other shifts as needed.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing (electronics, medical device, etc.).
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean certification.
• Hands-on experience with automation systems and high-throughput equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time process support for production teams on the afternoon shift, ensuring minimal downtime and swift issue resolution.
• Analyze and improve manufacturing yields, identifying root causes of scrap, rework, and process variation through data-driven methods (SPC, FMEA, 5 Whys, Fishbone).
• Lead or support new product introduction (NPI) activities, including process validation, work instruction development, and ramp-up readiness.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Operations to drive continuous improvement for cost, efficiency, and throughput.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, process documentation, and training materials for manufacturing staff.
• Support Lean and Six Sigma implementation to reduce waste and improve process control.
• Monitor KPIs for yield, cycle time, downtime, and quality with regular reporting.
• Participate in audits, customer visits, and internal reviews as SME for assigned processes.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
