Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Process Engineer to join our Manufacturing Operations in West Lafayette, IN. You will identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, increase efficiency, quality, and safety, and collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot issues and implement improvements.

The role emphasizes data-driven continuous improvement, cross-functional leadership, and applying statistics to process capability measurements.

Formación

• B.S. in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years’ experience in process development in a related world class manufacturing company.
• Ability to lead a cross functional team.
• Influence others and reach consensus.
• Project management experience.
• Knowledge of statistics as applied to process capability measurements.
• Effective writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Background check results satisfactory to SEL.
• Negative drug test result(s).

Responsabilidades

• Specifying, developing, justifying, implementing, and sustaining assembly equipment and materials.
• Improving quality, yield, efficiency, and capacity of processes in accordance with strategic objectives.
• Applying statistical problem solving to identify root causes.
• Evaluating new equipment and processes and process improvement activities.
• Interpreting results and providing recommendations to management.
• Keeping abreast of new developments in equipment, industry standards, best practices, and developments in assembly processes.
• Modeling, teaching, and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

As a Process Engineer, you will identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, helping to increase efficiency, quality, and safety across operations. You will work closely with production and other teams to troubleshoot issues, implement process improvements, and support day-to-day manufacturing activities. You will also use data and continuous improvement principles to help drive better performance and reliable results.

A typical day as a Process Engineer might include:

• Providing engineering support in multiple areas of manufacturing.
• Specifying, developing, justifying, implementing, and sustaining assembly equipment and materials.
• Improving quality, yield, efficiency, and capacity of processes in accordance with strategic objectives.
• Applying statistical problem solving to identify root causes.

Pay Range:

Pay Range: $89,400 - $134,100 annually

Associate Process Engineer: $82,000 – $122,900 annually

Process Engineer: $89,400 - $134,100 annually

Lead Process Engineer: $107,600 – $161,500 annually
