Job summary

Wabash Castings LLC, a division of Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry, is seeking a Process Engineer in Wabash, IN. You will serve as a hands-on technical resource connecting engineering, CAD, operations, quality, and production on the shop floor to turn good designs into good castings.

The role emphasizes real foundry experience, practical problem solving on the floor, and collaboration with foremen and teams to reduce scrap, improve processes, and support new job launches.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of foundry experience.
• Strong problem-solving and clear communication.
• Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Review gating and pattern designs for casting.
• Collaborate with CAD on MAGMASOFT results and process improvements.
• Partner with foremen and supervisors on green sand and air-set jobs.
• Investigate defects and troubleshoot porosity and quality issues.
• Lead scrap-reduction initiatives on high-loss jobs.
• Support RFQs, quoting, and process development.
• Develop and improve process sheets; participate in lean initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

• Reviewing and approving gating and pattern designs
• Working with CAD on MAGMASOFT simulation results and process improvements
• Partnering directly with foundry foremen and supervisors on green sand and air-set jobs
• Investigating casting defects and troubleshooting quality and porosity issues
• Leading efforts to reduce scrap on high-loss jobs
• Participating in daily MRB reviews and driving corrective actions
• Supporting new-job sampling and launch activities
• Assisting with RFQs, quoting, and process development
• Developing and improving process sheets
• Participating in lean manufacturing and cost-reduction initiatives
• Serving as a hands‑on technical resource throughout the plant
