Corteva Agriscience LLC seeks a full-time Process Engineer based in Valdosta, GA. The Process Engineer is a technical resource to coach and assist the Formulation and Packaging team, optimize and improve Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) throughput, product quality, equipment and operational reliability and cost performance. Specific duties include: (1) optimize plant operations and develop high performing operations team; (2) understand all applicable process technology, equipment and control technology; (3) use continuous improvement and troubleshooting methodology where appropriate for resolution of production challenges; (4) work with plant personnel to optimize operations and meet business goals (production, cost, quality); (5) own/participate in effective root cause investigations to prevent recurrence of unplanned events; (6) participate in implementation of the Operational Excellence Model (process qualification training for operations team); (7) demonstrate full understanding of Quality and Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures with the ability to translate them to implementation in the plant; (8) participate in and lead teams in his area of accountability; (9) scope and implement small projects; (10) act as a chemical manufacturing representative for projects; (11) fill one or more of the roles of Asset Technology Focal Point, Production Coordination Focal Point, Process Safety Focal Point and Turnaround Coordination Focal Point in line with plant needs and employee development goals; (12) Work with Business Analyst Manager to define and execute cost driven improvement projects; (13) Work closely with the Production Data Analysis (PDA) to improve inventory accuracy, raw material planning and cost optimization; (14) Area Business Team focal point for Manage and Implement Supply Change (M&ISC) and Raw Material Trial Projects; (15) Ensures Master Data is updated, provide manufacturing inputs, and manage reviews of this data per schedule with Supply. Domestic travel required up to 10% of the time.
This position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 3 years related experience. Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: 1) Using continuous improvement and troubleshooting methodology where appropriate for resolution of production challenges. 2) Owning/participating in effective root cause investigations to prevent recurrence of unplanned events. 3) Creating and maintaining all area procedures including but not limited to Batch instructions, SOPs, SOCs and LOTOPs. 4) Utilizing the following tools/technologies: SAP ERP System, ASPEN HYSYS, MATLAB, Infinity, Adege ERP System, Python, and Microsoft office. 5) Quality control & management systems, procedures and work processes including HACCP(Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points), HARPC(Hazard Analysis & Risk-based Preventative Controls) & USDA CFR (United States Department of Agriculture Code of Federal Regulations). 6) Lean manufacturing: Development and tracking of KPIs and Visual management systems. Including but not limited to production rates, cycle times, tact time & FPP (First Pass Prime). Position requires Lean Six Sigma certification, Yellow Belt at minimum. Domestic travel required up to 10% of the time. Will accept experience gained before, during or after Master’s program. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently.
