Job summary

Corteva Agriscience in Valdosta, GA is seeking a Production Operator 5 to join our on-site team. You’ll apply technical, mechanical, and operational expertise to support plant performance, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement.

Work in a team with a strong safety culture, document activities, and coordinate with other shifts to ensure reliable operations. Prior manufacturing or military experience is valued; a valid US driver's license is required.

Qualifications

  • High School/GED or equivalent.
  • Relevant trade school training or technical background.
  • 2+ years manufacturing or military experience.
  • Must read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot equipment, process, and quality issues to support reliable operations.
  • Safely prepare equipment for maintenance and complete return-to-service checks.
  • Follow EH&S policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Document activities using plant systems and electronic tools.
  • Communicate across shifts to ensure operational success.
  • Support root cause investigations and process improvements.

Our crop protection site located in Valdosta, GA has an exciting opportunity for a Production Operator to join our team.

Relocation is not offered.

What You’ll Do:

As a Production Operator 5, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of Corteva’s Valdosta, GA facility. Working in a team-oriented environment, you’ll apply technical, mechanical, and operational expertise to support plant performance, troubleshooting issues, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment, process, and quality issues to support reliable operations.
  • Safely prepare equipment for maintenance, complete return-to-service checks, and issue work permits.
  • Follow all Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Utilize plant systems and electronic tools to document activities, track actions, and support daily operations.
  • Identify and address operational challenges while supporting plant goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in root cause investigations, plant projects, and process improvement efforts.
  • Maintain effective communication across shifts and collaborate with team members to ensure operational success.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, teamwork, and accountability in all aspects of the role.
  • Continuously develop technical skills and participate in training opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:

High School/GED or equivalent.

Education Preferred:

Relevant trade school training or technical background.

2+ years of manufacturing or relevant military experience.

Basic Requirements:
  • Have a current, valid, United States driver's license.
  • Pass a drug screen, background history, and other relevant screens if job offer is received and accepted.
  • Read, write, and speak English.
  • Reliable attendance.
  • Work a rotating shift and/or overtime.
  • Ability to be regularly medically approved and fit tested for respirator use.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Obtain necessary certifications as needed.
What Skills You Need:
  • Candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the role, which include, but are not limited to the ability to:
  • Use standard safety equipment which is rated at 300 pounds or less.
  • Pull, lift and carry up to 50 pounds multiple times per day and maneuver hoses, flange connections and operate valves and similar equipment.
  • Perceive, identify, and respond to plant and site alarms or other hazard warnings.
  • Follow procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Wear uniform and safety equipment, such as respirators, earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
  • Safely operate fork trucks, condors, and/or site vehicles.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to work in environments that include tight or closed-in spaces, climb stairs/ladders and work at heights, stand or walk for extended periods of time, frequent bending and reaching, outdoors and inclement weather.
