Job summary

Responsibilities

• Conduct root cause analysis on failures and implement preventive measures.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Process Engineer I to join our engineering team. Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, this role is pivotal in supporting the design, development, and lifecycle management of our projects and products. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background with a focus on automation, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments to ensure process consistency and product quality.

Certifications

• Successful candidates must pass the Component ID and IPC-A-610 Solder Inspection Trainings.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Engineering & Analysis

• Conduct root cause analysis on failures, identify solutions, and implement preventive measures.
• Analyze and review PCB data and penalizations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Perform mathematical and physics calculations to support engineering projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specification sheets.
• Design and/or fabricate custom fixtures to streamline assembly processes.
• Author and perform product and process validations.

Process Improvement & Documentation

• Develop manufacturing processes and work instructions for PCB and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure process consistency and safety compliance.
• Participate in new equipment evaluation, procurement, and preventive maintenance planning.
• Actively participate in Tech and Design Reviews for existing and New Product Introduction (NPI).
• Provide real-time technical support during manufacturing operations to reduce downtime and enhance productivity.
• Manage project workflow and provide day-to-day support and oversight of project elements.
• Develop project schedules and deliverable timelines under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Act as a liaison between production supervisors, management, and engineering teams to ensure alignment.
• Prepare project reports and present findings to engineers and other personnel regarding schedules, budgets, and potential delays.
• Provide technical support and feedback to customers on design and manufacturability issues.

Quality & Compliance

• Interface with quality control teams to assist in inspections, repairs, and rework of PCBs and assemblies.
• Provide guidance to inspection personnel.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards (IPC-A-610).

Qualifications:

Experience:

• Strong mechanical background with a focus on automation.
• Understanding of electrical engineering and machine programming.
• Technical Proficiency: Ability to read blueprints and schematics; proficiency in drafting and project planning. Knowledge of component identification is required.
• Software: Proficiency with MS Office. Experience with Shop Floor Tracking System (Aegis) software is preferred.
• Problem Solving: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Project Management: Project management skills are a plus.
• Communication: Excellent team coordination and communication skills are essential.
