Job summary

TCLAD in Prescott, WI is seeking a Process Engineer to own the Ni/Au line and panel manufacturing processes. You will manage raw materials receipt, chemical storage, mixing, and the AST line, develop new processes, optimize existing equipment, and lead engineering projects across manufacturing.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field with 2–4 years of relevant experience and strong communication and analytical skills to drive improvements and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for manufacturing on a daily basis including quality, throughput, and process documentation.

  • Support PPAP documentation and continuous process improvement.

Process Engineer:

Job Summary: Primarily responsible for all processes and tooling for the Ni/Au line and panel manufacturing area that includes: raw materials receipt, chemical storage, mixing, and the AST line (cell 2). This includes development of new technologies, optimization of existing equipment and processes, and troubleshooting of complex manufacturing problems. In addition, lead projects/teams in all areas of manufacturing in resolution of assigned engineering projects.

Qualifications / Competencies
Production Support:
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing on a daily basis – Responsible for Quality, through put, manufacturing efficiencies, and process documentation for defined area of responsibility.
  • Responsible to effectively communicate process changes including documentation, operator training, and process validation.
  • Participate in disposition of daily material rejection reviews.
  • Provide technical support of existing supplier quality issues.
  • Perform other process related support activities as assigned.
Process Development Projects:
  • Develop short and long-term process solutions for existing manufacturing challenges through solid root cause analysis.
  • Develop new processes to support manufacture of new product designs.
  • Select, approve, and validate introduction of new materials into manufacturing.
  • Coordinate supplier development of process or materials including validation testing, documentation of specifications, and incoming inspection procedures.
  • Responsible for capital equipment definition, justification, procurement, and release to manufacturing.
  • Responsible to manage capital projects and meet expectations for cost and timeline.
Process Quality:
  • Complete internal and external corrective actions as required.
  • Provide support of PPAP documentation related to processes in defined area of responsibility.
  • Define and implement continuous process improvement through process optimization and controls.
Other Skills And Abilities
  • Knowledge of chemistry including pH properties, the periodic table, oxidation/reduction, acid/base properties, titration curves, stoichiometry, energy of reactions, electrochemical cells, spectrophotometry, chromatography and molarity.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to perform complex mathematical calculations and statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of computer applications such as manufacturing software; project management software; Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with the following analytical instruments and lab equipment: atomic absorption spectrophotometry, UV/VIS spectrophotometry, ion chromatography, DSC, balances and titration labware.
  • Good organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently as well as a team player.
  • Look for ways to promote and improve quality.
  • Abide by safety and security policies.
  • Participate in Material Review Board Activities and Feasibility Review to meet Customer Specific Requirements as needed.
Education and/or Experience:
