RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities for this job include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement plans to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
  • Conduct research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing.
  • Exploring and implementing methods to automate systems.
  • Programming new and existing automated systems.
  • Designing and planning equipment layout(s)
  • Implement, test, and debug control systems on equipment.
  • Contribute to tooling and processes for product development leading to high volume manufacturing.
  • Lead in optimization of industrial processes and machinery to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Establish goals for the operation.
  • Ensures accountability by establishing clear responsibilities to monitor work and measuring results.
  • Support defect reduction studies
  • Work with tooling to confirm feasibility.
  • Evaluating processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Update management on a regular basis on project status.Identify what is falling behind and what assistance is needed from management to move the process forward.
  • Conduct risk assessments on processes and equipment
  • Identify and take ownership of Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Conducting tests and monitoring the process performance throughout production
  • Troubleshooting problems associated with manufacturing processes.
  • Confirms efficiency of the manufacturing processes.
  • Leads Supervisor meeting to communicate and monitor production activities.
  • Identify the resources needed for capital expenses,
  • Facilitates change and innovative approaches in the workplace.
  • Identifies root cause of problems and implements corrective actions.
  • Coordinate Preventive Maintenance activities with support functions collaboratively with Maintenance Management.
  • Work with Product Engineers to support new product R&D, testing and production pilot requirements.
  • Identify and implement cost savings projects and efficiency improvement activities.
  • Promotes a transparent and positive work environment.
  • Ensures a safe work environment by promoting safe practices and procedures.
  • Lead 5S efforts, stress good housekeeping and safe work practices.

SKILLS:

Candidates should possess the following skills/knowledge:

  • Excellent leadership skills – high integrity, results driven, interpersonal skills, ability to champion change and strong manufacturing competencies.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing tools. Ability to problem solve and lead significant improvements in quality, productivity, cost and material initiatives.
  • Familiar with Allen Bradley PLC’s or similar
  • Familiar with Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs).
  • Ability to communicate at different levels within the organization.
  • History of increasing responsibilities with proven track record of achieving good results.
  • Flexible with regard to work schedule
  • Knowledge of PFMEA’s and Process Flow Diagrams
  • Strong presence on the manufacturing floor
  • Knowledge of process engineering software
  • Advanced Project Management Skills- ability to set project plans and meet key milestones in a timely manner.
  • Strong knowledge of Value-stream Mapping
  • Ability to effectively use MS Office suite and PC applications.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Electrical, Mechanical or Process Engineering preferred; a minimum of 5-7 years of engineering experience.

  • Lean/Six-Sigma certification

  • PLC programming (AB and Keyence)
  • HMI programming
  • Experience with Keyence vision sensors, barcode scanners, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes.

  • Position requires a full range of body motion including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting.
  • Ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 8 hours.
