Medici Brands is led by CEO Peter Rahal, Co-founder and former CEO of RXBAR, and is focused on building brands that break the tradeoffs between taste and nutrition that have classically existed.

Role Overview:

Provide process and engineering support across all business units and brands - including suppliers, manufacturers, and fulfillment partners. Serve wherever the business requires technical expertise to optimize performance and efficiency. Continuously identify and implement process improvements that enhance quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing optimization:
  • Drive end-to-end process improvement across the manufacturing footprint.
  • Manage and improve performance across the supplier and co-manufacturing network.
  • Optimize production lines, capacity, and resource efficiency.
  • Support quality systems, root-cause analysis, and OEE improvement initiatives.
Research and development
  • Collaborate with R&D to align on product specifications and technical feasibility during early-stage formulation.
  • Integrate process engineering considerations into formulation design to ensure scalability and production readiness.
  • Support new product and process development from concept through pilot scale.
  • Translate bench-scale processes into commercial execution with minimal friction.
  • Ensure formulation and process decisions are compatible with equipment capabilities and supplier constraints across production stages.
  • Audit, start up, and validate new manufacturing sites for readiness and compliance.
  • Scale up lab or pilot processes to full production using DoE and data-driven validation.
  • Lead technology transfer, documentation, and training across facilities and partners.
  • Support our Quality team, as needed, with regulatory, validation, and risk assessment activities (IQ/OQ/PQ, FMEA, HACCP).
What You’ll Bring:
  • Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
  • 4+ years experience in process design, scale-up, and manufacturing optimization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, applying first-principles thinking and data-driven insights.
  • Passion for innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
  • A bias toward action, experimentation, and continuous learning.
  • Humility, curiosity, and a drive to build iconic consumer brands.
Practicalities:
  • Full-time, in-office role based in New York City. We work onsite five days a week (when not travelling) - when the culture fits, it is fun to be in the office together.
  • Expect to travel up to 2-3 weeks per month as needed for commercialization and production trials.
  • Cash compensation: $130-$150K per year, dependent on experience. Salary range is inclusive of bonus.
  • Equity opportunity on top of cash compensation.
  • 100% covered Health, Vision, Dental Insurance
  • 401(k) with 4% match
  • Additional perks, such as covered gym expenses
