Your primary goal will be to unify disparate workflows, reduce process variation, and lay the foundation for future process optimization and automation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Discovery and Documentation
    • Conduct thorough process discovery across departments and cross-functional review to understand current workflows and document them where none exist
    • Engage with stakeholders across different areas of the bank to capture insights, identify differences, and resolve discrepancies in how processes are performed
    • Develop comprehensive process maps and documentation to serve as a single source of truth for the bank.
  • Standardization and Best Practices
    • Create standardized processes that meet the needs of various departments while aligning with best practices and regulatory requirements
    • Facilitate workshops and discussions with cross-functional teams to build consensus on standardized processes and obtain buy-in from all relevant areas
    • Establish guidelines and frameworks for each process, ensuring that standards are consistently applied across the organization.
  • Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement
    • Analyze the newly documented and standardized processes to identify areas for improvement, streamlining, and potential automation
    • Identify where elimination of steps and/or simple non-tech or very low tech process/form efficiencies can be implemented quickly (phase 1 improvements).
    • Work with teams to implement phase 1 efficiency improvements once processes are documented and standardized
    • Set up monitoring systems to regularly evaluate process effectiveness and identify further opportunities for optimization.
    • Work with IT workflow team and business to develop estimates and benefits case to propose budget for workflow/automation requiring technology.
    • If approved, work with the team to implement improvements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Change Management
    • Lead the change management effort required to transition departments from varied, informal processes to standardized workflows
    • Provide training and support to ensure all employees understand the new processes and are equipped to follow them.
    • Communicate regularly with key stakeholders to manage expectations and address any concerns regarding process standardization.
  • Risk and Compliance Alignment
    • Ensure that standardized processes meet regulatory and risk management requirements specific to the banking sector.
    • Work with compliance and risk teams to embed necessary controls into newly defined processes.
  • Development of Process Governance:
    • Create and establish a governance framework to manage ongoing process documentation, version control, and updates.
    • Develop a process audit system to ensure adherence to standardized processes over time.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in process engineering or improvement, preferably in banking or financial services.
  • Strong background in process mapping, process documentation, and standardization.
  • Knowledge of change management principles and experience working with diverse teams to unify and standardize workflows.
  • Familiarity with process mapping and documentation tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart) and basic knowledge of regulatory requirements in banking.
Preferred Skills:
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or another process improvement methodology.
  • Experience developing process governance and documentation practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

This role requires a proactive approach to uncover and address process inconsistencies, building a solid process foundation that will enable future efficiency improvements and digital transformation initiatives.
