Job summary

Belcan seeks a Senior Process Engineer in the Indianapolis area to develop and implement processes for complex sheet metal and machined assemblies in aerospace and land-based industries.

The role requires at least seven years of aerospace experience, strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills, and proficiency with Siemens NX or AutoCAD. You will support product life cycles, collaborate across functions, and uphold quality standards.

Qualifications

Job description

A Process Engineer is responsible for creating, documenting, developing, and implementing procedures used to assemble, process, test and/or manufacture complex sheet metal fabrications and complex machined assemblies for the aerospace and land-based industries. Please note that we are seeking a senior team member with at least 7 years of aerospace engineering experience.

Essential Job Functions:

• Develop written processes in accordance with customer-supplied drawings to produce end product that meets blueprint and quality requirements
• Work with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing groups to identify needs for process improvements and provide engineering solutions to identified problems
• Responsible for product life cycle from PO receipt until the shipment of end product. This includes bill of material creation, tooling development, creating and maintaining shop routings and operation sheets, providing shop technical support through the development and production cycle while maintaining quality requirements. When necessary, provide interim maintenance to already developed product
• Ability to communicate with both internal and external customers, relaying technical information and providing program management support
• Follow quality system procedures as required

Requirements:

• Four-year engineering degree or equivalent
• Seven years minimum of relevant aerospace engineering experience is required. Tool design experience would be beneficial, but is not required
• The ideal candidate must have a strong background in blueprint reading, GD&T, and specification interpretation
• Must possess either 3D (Siemens NX) or AutoCAD experience
• Must possess knowledge of Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
