Job summary

Saint-Gobain/CertainTeed in Holly Springs, MS, seeks a Process Engineer to partner with Manufacturing, QA, and engineering teams to drive process improvements on extrusion lines and new production systems.

You will lead root-cause investigations, implement corrective and preventive actions, and manage capital projects to improve OEE, reduce costs, and strengthen safety and training across the plant.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering is required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Mechanical, Process, or Manufacturing Engineering; extrusion experience required.
  • 1 year of Six Sigma project experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on assistance on the Siding production floor to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.
  • Develop and document operating procedures.
  • Perform root cause investigations for Quality and Yield issues.
  • Submit and manage capital projects.
  • Advance SPG safety initiatives.
  • Deliver on SPG cost reduction initiatives.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Process Engineer will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and other key functional areas to support critical business initiatives, with a primary focus on process improvement through the application of engineering principles, tools, and methodologies.

Under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Process Engineer will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and other key functional areas to support critical business initiatives, with a primary focus on process improvement through the application of engineering principles, tools, and methodologies.

This role will be instrumental in the installation, startup, and commissioning of new production lines, driving optimization efforts to maximize throughput, improve efficiency, and minimize quality-related issues.

The Process Engineer will lead root cause investigations of quality concerns, facilitating the implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions to ensure sustainable improvements.

Through Process Improvement Events, capital projects, and project management activities, the Process Engineer will lead and support initiatives focused on improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), reducing costs, enhancing employee training, and advancing World Class Manufacturing principles. Success in this role requires strong technical skills, dependability, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.

As with all positions, the Process Engineer is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe work environment at all times. This includes identifying, correcting, or reporting unsafe acts and conditions through the appropriate channels to ensure a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Essential Functions

The employee is responsible for:

  • Following all quality and safety rules and procedures while encouraging others to do the same.
  • Addressing and reporting any unsafe condition or quality issue immediately.
  • Speaking up when unsafe behaviors are observed or quality issues arise and participating in investigations without assigning blame.
  • Adhering to the principles of data integrity.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (Required)
Work Experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering; experience in the extrusion industry required.
  • 1 year of Six Sigma project experience (Preferred)
