Job summary

Saint-Gobain/CertainTeed is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 2nd or 3rd shift to lead daily production activities, drive safety, quality and cost-reduction initiatives, and foster a culture of Trust, Empowerment and Collaboration. You will manage hourly staff, coordinate with the planner, and ensure SAP data accuracy.

The role requires 3+ years supervisory experience in manufacturing, strong communication skills, and familiarity with ISO, Lean, TPM, 5S, and Six Sigma.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree preferred (equivalent experience may be considered).
• 3+ years of Supervisory experience (manufacturing environment preferred).
• Proficient in use of MS Office (familiarity with Kronos and SAP a plus).
• General understanding of ISO methodology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S & Six Sigma a plus.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises hourly production employees on safe, efficient operation of line equipment.
• Utilize manpower, WIP and adjust operations with sound judgment.
• Communicate expectations, assess performance, coach, and discipline when needed.
• Monitor production processes and quality to ensure standards are met.
• Oversee training to ensure SOPs and work instructions are followed.
• Lead shift safety meetings and trainings.
• Assist in hiring hourly employees when required.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement countermeasures on losses.
• Coordinate with Production Planner to align with the schedule.
• Enter production, efficiency and waste data into SAP.
• Investigate EH&S incidents and support audits.
• Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling requirements.
• Participate in incident investigations and safety assessments.
• Develop and review job safety assessments and SOPs.
• Maintain 5S housekeeping and Kronos payroll accuracy.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Production Supervisor – 2nd or 3rd Shift
3PM-11:00PM or 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM, with some weekend work required.

Position Summary

Supervises the daily activities of production personnel and provides key leadership to safety, quality, housekeeping and cost reduction while promoting positive employee relations within the production team. Supervisor is held accountable to ensure production activities are carried out in compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements, policies, and procedures and is a key driver of Saint-Gobain\'s Trust, Empowerment and Collaboration initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Directly supervises the hourly production employees on the safe and efficient operation of the production line equipment and processes.
• Exercises good judgment in the utilization of manpower, work in progress and operational adjustments.
• Communicates & documents employee expectations and assess employee performance. Provides coaching and development opportunities, and administer disciplinary action if needed.
• Directly monitors the production processes and production quality to ensure compliance to established company standards.
• Oversees the training of production employees to ensure they receive adequate training prior to operating any of the manufacturing equipment and that they follow the standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• Leads the shift safety meetings and training sessions that have been developed by the training department.
• May be required to assist in the evaluation and selection process of hiring hourly employees.
• Assists in performing root-cause analysis as well as implementing sustainable countermeasures on losses related to production.
• Work closely with the Production Planner to ensure compliance to the production schedule and production changes.
• Enters production, efficiency and waste data into SAP.
• Investigate EH&S incidents - Injuries, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage.
• Conduct EHS and SMAT Audits to support the plants EHS goals.
• Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities.
• Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
• Participate in the development, understanding and review of all position job safety assessments and standard operating procedures.
• Maintains work place organization to ensure good housekeeping (5S) by holding employees responsible for their assigned work areas.
• Reviews and approves employee timekeeping (Kronos) and ensures employees are paid the correct wages in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
• May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

The national pay range for this position is [$72,500-$111,500] per year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is [9%] of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position is [$79,025- $121,500.00].
