Job summary

CES/AWS is seeking an experienced Process Engineer for our automotive manufacturer client in Asheville, NC. This role focuses on developing, improving, and supporting manufacturing processes for fabrication and assembly, collaborating with Production, Quality, Engineering, and suppliers.

The ideal candidate has hands-on CNC machining, cutting tools, fixtures, process improvement, and lean manufacturing experience, plus ability to interpret blueprints and support APQP, time studies, and

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Process/Manufacturing Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of experience.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining, machine processes, cutting tools, fixtures, and special-purpose machinery.
• Experience interpreting mechanical blueprints and GD&T.
• Working knowledge of IATF/ISO 16949 and ISO 14001.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with statistical analysis and manufacturing/process data.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, CAD/CAM, and SolidWorks.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and project-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical data to determine manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Develop sequences of operations, process documentation, and operation sheets.
• Work with Production Planning to establish priorities and ensure tools, fixtures, and documentation are available for production.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and LPS initiatives.
• Participate in APQP meetings and support the design of fixtures and tooling.
• Work with raw material and tooling suppliers to establish engineering requirements for new production.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and processing issues and develop effective solutions.
• Prepare quotations for new jobs, including material, processing, tooling, gauges, and capital costs.
• Conduct time studies and productivity improvement investigations.
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, efficiency, quality, and cost.
• Maintain process controls and support quality troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully launch and improve manufacturing processes.

About the Role
