Job summary

Gilder Search Group in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Process Engineer to drive production efficiency, process stability, and quality system integrity across manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of manufacturing, process, or quality engineering experience, with strong ISO 9001:2015 knowledge and hands-on CNC capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 5–10 years of manufacturing, process, or quality engineering experience.
• Deep working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality systems.
• Hands-on CNC manufacturing setup, operation, and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with SPC, CAPA and root-cause methodologies.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
• Analytical, data-driven problem-solving mindset.
• Strong communication with shop floor personnel and management.
• Self-motivated with ability to drive changes in a fast-paced environment.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead ISO 9001 initiatives and audits across operations.
• Troubleshoot CNC machining and daily processes to reduce downtime.
• Drive continuous improvement to optimize yield and efficiency.
• Apply SPC to monitor production capability and stability.
• Perform root-cause analysis on defects and quality issues.
• Execute CAPA processes to address systemic issues.
• Use SolidWorks or 3D modeling to design tooling and fixtures.
• Evaluate equipment performance and recommend upgrades.
• Standardize SOPs and technical documentation on the shop floor.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve bottlenecks.

Process Engineer Role

The Process Engineer drives production efficiency, process stability, and quality system integrity across manufacturing operations. This role exists to lead continuous improvement initiatives, optimize manufacturing processes, and maintain rigorous quality standards to ensure peak performance.

Process Engineer Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain ISO 9001:2015 quality management system initiatives and audits
• Troubleshoot CNC machining operations and daily manufacturing processes to eliminate downtime
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production lines to optimize yield and efficiency
• Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools to monitor production capability and stability
• Perform root-cause analysis on production defects and customer quality issues
• Execute Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes to address systemic manufacturing issues
• Utilize SolidWorks or 3D modeling software to design tooling, fixtures, and process adjustments
• Evaluate manufacturing equipment performance and recommend capital or technical upgrades
• Standardize operating procedures and technical documentation for shop floor execution
• Collaborate with cross-functional operations teams to resolve quality and throughput bottlenecks

Process Engineer Reporting Relationships

This position reports directly to the Engineering or Operations Manager. The role operates as an individual contributor with strong cross-functional leadership and no direct administrative reports.

About You

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Possess 5 to 10 years of professional experience in manufacturing, process, or quality engineering
• Demonstrate deep working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems
• Exhibit strong technical proficiency in CNC manufacturing setup, operation, and troubleshooting
• Demonstrate hands-on experience applying SPC, CAPA, and structured root-cause analysis methodologies
• Proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D computer-aided design modeling software
• Possess strong analytical problem-solving capabilities and a data-driven mindset
• Communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively with shop floor personnel and management
• Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to drive operational changes in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain legal authorization to work in the United States without present or future visa sponsorship requirement
