Job Description We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support and optimize electronics manufacturing processes in a fast-paced production environment. This role will focus on improving manufacturing efficiency, quality, safety, and cost while supporting the introduction of new products and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SMT and PCBA manufacturing, process optimization, equipment, tooling, and quality systems. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with engineering, production, quality, and management teams to improve processes and support new product launches.

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for SMT, PTH, routing, hand soldering, conformal coating, RTV, potting, and assembly operations.
- Analyze production workflows, data, and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, Control Plans, work instructions, procedures, and other technical documentation.
- Select and evaluate appropriate equipment, tooling, and resources for manufacturing processes.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement methodologies to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and increase productivity.
- Support DMAIC and other continuous improvement projects.
- Manage the introduction and launch of new products utilizing Surface Mount Technology (SMT).
- Work with design, engineering, production, and quality teams to establish technical specifications and manufacturing requirements.
- Support engineering changes, including ECO/ECR implementation, and ensure changes are properly introduced into production.
- Review product drawings, models, and technical specifications using CAD or similar tools.
- Coordinate testing and validation activities to evaluate product performance, durability, and safety.
- Analyze test results and make appropriate process or design recommendations.
- Create and maintain PPAP and other required technical and quality documentation.
- Monitor and improve equipment performance, including maintenance planning, troubleshooting, spare parts management, and equipment-related issue resolution.
- Ensure manufacturing and maintenance activities comply with applicable safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Support quality control activities and ensure compliance with applicable quality standards and procedures.
- Maintain traceability of materials, processes, and finished products.
- Assist with failure analysis and corrective action activities, including 8D, 5-Why, and 6M methodologies.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to manufacturing performance, quality, and process efficiency.
- Prepare technical, operational, and performance reports for management.
- Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams as needed to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to production and engineering personnel as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronics manufacturing required.
- Strong experience with SMT and PCBA manufacturing processes.
- Experience with SMT and back-end tooling and equipment.
- Knowledge of thermal profiling and oven/reflow processes.
- Experience with conformal coating processes preferred.
- Strong understanding of process optimization and continuous improvement.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and/or DMAIC methodologies.
- Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing and production processes.
- Experience with quality control and manufacturing quality systems.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Experience with MES systems such as WATS, ARCH, or similar platforms preferred.
- Experience with equipment management and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Gerber viewers and CAD software.
- Experience with production planning and control.
- Knowledge of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
- Experience developing and maintaining PPAP documentation preferred.
- Knowledge of IATF 16949, IPC-A-610, and Core Quality Tools preferred.
- Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Work Environment
This position is approximately 50% office-based and 50% on the production floor. Regular time on the manufacturing floor is required to monitor processes, troubleshoot issues, and support production activities. May occasionally require hands‑on technical work involving machinery, equipment, material movement, or other manufacturing‑related activities. Must be comfortable working in both an office and production environment. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required while working on the production floor.
