Job summary

AbbVie in Chicago seeks an experienced scientist to support the development, characterization, and scale-up of oral solid dosage form manufacturing processes. You will generate reliable data, analyze results, and communicate findings to support campaigns, validation activities, and regulatory submissions.

The role requires strong knowledge of unit operations, DOE, and GMP/GxP compliance, with 3+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Pharmaceutical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related).
• Experience in development or manufacturing of oral solid dosage forms (tablets, capsules).
• Knowledge of unit operations for oral solids: blending, granulation, milling, compression, encapsulation, coating.
• Experience performing laboratory studies in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
• Familiarity with DOE and statistical data analysis; ability to document results.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory and pilot-scale activities independently, generating reliable results.
• Analyze and interpret results, identify trends, deviations; troubleshoot experiments.
• Execute process development, characterization, and scale-up studies for oral solid dosage forms.
• Apply DOE and statistical tools to support process understanding and optimization.
• Support manufacturing campaigns, scale-up activities, and PPQ batches with on-site technical support.
• Author campaign memos, technical summaries, and development documentation.
