Job summary

Vertex is seeking a Scientist to join the CGT Process Development team in Boston, MA. You will design and execute process development studies for cell-based therapies, focusing on cell banking and hESC expansion, with strong emphasis on data analysis, QbD, and technology integration.

The role requires experience in embryonic stem cell biology, GMP, and cell culture platforms, with on-site work five days a week.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required
Bachelor's degree with 6+ years experience or Master's with 4+ years or PhD with 0-3 years is acceptable
Experience with GMP and process development in biopharma preferred

Responsibilities

Design, execute, analyze studies supporting process development and cell banking
Apply QbD principles to build process understanding and establish parameters
Evaluate and implement novel technologies to advance process strategy
Troubleshoot challenges and contribute to investigations with data-driven decisions
Communicate results and recommendations to teams and stakeholders
Maintain data integrity with documentation and technical reports for tech transfers
Coordinate material planning, sampling, and execution plans for readiness
Mentor and provide technical support to colleagues
