Job summary

Shiseido Americas seeks an Engineer I in the Process Development Group to manage pilot-scale manufacturing transitions for new products. You will identify scaling challenges, perform DOE-driven experiments, and collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing to ensure smooth scale-up.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, 0–2 years in science, strong organization and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office. On-site in East Windsor, NJ, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related degree.
• 0–2 years in a science-related industry, preferably personal care.
• Strong organizational, communication and writing skills.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Study, understand, and execute pilot-scale batches of R&D lab formulas for smooth transfer to manufacturing.
• Collaborate with formulating chemists on development projects to anticipate future quality and process concerns.
• Develop and implement Design of Experiments (DOE) to address processing challenges.
• Design, prepare, and execute manufacturing trial and process validation batches.
• Participate in diagnosing manufacturing issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with lab safety and maintenance standards in the work area.
