Job summary

Sensient Technologies in Saint Louis is seeking a Process Developer to advance new color products from lab to production. You will operate lab and pilot plant equipment, support development, testing and scale-up, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions worldwide.

Domestic and international travel are required; you will partner with scientists and production teams to transfer technologies into manufacturing and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in chemistry, food science, engineering, or a related field.
• Experience working in a laboratory, manufacturing, research, or product development environment.
• Hands-on experience with precision fermentation and downstream processing, including scaling.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple projects.
• Collaborative mindset across lab, pilot plant and manufacturing environments.
• Flexibility to travel for domestic and international production trials.

Responsibilities

• Support development, testing, and scale-up of new food color products and processes.
• Operate lab and pilot plant equipment; evaluate materials, performance, and process improvements.
• Assist with production trials at partner facilities; collect data and document results.
• Maintain accurate procedures, quality records and regulatory documentation.
• Collaborate with scientists, production teams, and external partners to transfer technologies to manufacturing.
