Job summary

Takeda in Cambridge, MA seeks an Associate Engineering Fellow, Process Knowledge & Data Architecture to lead a scalable data and knowledge platform across SMPD, enabling model-informed development and AI-driven workflows.

The role partners with chemistry, process development, automation, and IT to create a unified, compliant data layer, govern data, and deliver dashboards and data products for decision making.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent with extensive experience in data architecture, governance, and integration in pharma R&D/manufacturing.
• Experience designing scalable data platforms, pipelines, and cloud architectures (AWS/Azure).
• Familiarity with ELN, LIMS, MES and cross-functional collaboration in GMP environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the Knowledge Layer with governance and lifecycle management of databases and data assets.
• Architect integrated data systems linking chemistry, process parameters, scale, equipment attributes and analytics (ELN/LIMS/MES).
• Enable model-informed development and digital twins through scalable data pipelines and AI/ML readiness.
• Define metadata models, ontologies, and FAIR data principles; implement ingestion pipelines across platforms.
• Ensure governance and compliance with regulatory expectations (cGMP, data integrity).
• Translate science needs into data platform requirements; drive interoperability and long-term sustainability.
