Job summary

DSJ Global seeks a Manager, Process Control to lead the Process Control Systems group at a large-scale manufacturing facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related field required.
• 7+ years in process control, automation, or related engineering field.
• Experience with large-scale manufacturing operations and major control system upgrades.
• 5+ years in supervisory or management roles leading technical teams.
• Strong knowledge of DCS, PLC, industrial networks, process controls, and related software.

Job description

The Manager, Process Control serves as the direct leader and technical authority for the Process Control Systems Group at a large-scale manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Technical Manager, this position is a key member of the production services leadership team.

This role is responsible for overseeing process control systems throughout the facility, leading technical personnel, executing capital projects, and driving continuous improvement. The Manager, Process Control will work closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, and other departments to improve safety, quality, reliability, cost, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

• Lead and supervise the Process Control Systems team and department personnel.
• Oversee process control systems throughout the facility to ensure reliable and optimized operation.
• Establish goals and responsibilities for direct reports and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
• Identify employee training needs and support the technical and professional development of the team.
• Coordinate Process Control activities with engineering, operations, maintenance, and other departments.

Process Control & Automation

• Provide technical leadership for DCS, PLC, network, and related process control systems.
• Drive continuous improvement of manufacturing processes controlled or monitored by the Process Control team.
• Support troubleshooting, system optimization, upgrades, and reliability improvements.
• Participate in on-call Process Control/DCS engineering responsibilities as required.

Capital Projects

• Lead capital projects involving process control systems, automation, and associated manufacturing equipment.
• Manage projects from planning and design through implementation and commissioning.
• Participate in facility-wide quality, productivity, and cost improvement initiatives.

Safety

• Ensure compliance with all facility safety policies and procedures.
• Promote and actively participate in safety programs and initiatives.
• Conduct routine safety audits and provide coaching when necessary.
• Support timely investigation and resolution of safety incidents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in process control, automation, or a related engineering field.
• Experience supporting large-scale manufacturing operations and major control system upgrades.
• 5+ years of supervisory or management experience leading technical teams.
• Strong knowledge of DCS, PLC, industrial networks, process controls, and associated software systems.
• Experience with Honeywell, DeltaV, Metso/Valmet, or similar DCS platforms preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading capital projects from planning through execution.
• Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Paper, pulp, packaging, or similar continuous-process manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Ability to participate in on-call support as required.
• Less than 10% travel required.
