Job summary

Koch Methanol, LLC is seeking a Process Controls Engineer Intern for a on-site summer program in St. James, LA. You will own a defined project, collaborate with controls and process engineering teams, and gain hands-on experience in a live, world-scale plant during May–August 2027.

You will work with a mentor, support control system development, and present results to site leadership at term end. Open to engineering students in related fields seeking practical automation exposure.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Control Engineering, or a related field.
Eligible for full-time employment by or before May 2029.
Available to work full time on site in St. James, LA for the duration of the summer term.
Willing to work in an operating chemical plant environment with required PPE.

Responsibilities

Own a summer project tied to a real plant need and drive it from concept through review and implementation.
Support development, testing, and documentation of process control applications to improve plant operation and profitability.
Assist with control loop performance monitoring, tuning reviews and corrective action recommendations.
Review and update process control documentation including narratives, schemes, and standards.
