Job summary

Onterris Payroll, LLC is hiring a Process Controls Engineer II in our San Diego, CA office. You will support the design and delivery of advanced water treatment systems, coordinating with lead engineers to manage 2–3 projects simultaneously.

The role requires 2–7 years in process/controls engineering in environmental remediation or water treatment, familiarity with Rockwell or Siemens control systems, and strong writing and communication skills. Travel averaging 25% will be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, process, mechanical, or environmental engineering or related field.
• 2-7 years experience in process, chemical, or controls engineering in environmental remediation/water/air treatment.
• Familiarity with control system hardware/software; Rockwell/Allen-Bradley or Siemens preferred.
• Experience with process drawings (P&IDs, PFDs, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of water treatment equipment and related processes.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical and organized.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and technical writing skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Support design and delivery of advanced water treatment systems.
• Contribute to design of 2–3 simultaneous projects under lead engineer.
• Create control system specifications, narratives, sequences and I/O lists.
• Review and test control programs; assist with VFDs and SCADA integration.
• Coordinate process control requirements with design team, vendors and customers.
• Provide electrical power diagrams, load calculations and instrumentation layouts.
• Assist with process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and engineering reports.
• Review CAD drawings of control panels and guide CAD staff.
• Support field activities including startup, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Travel up to 25% domestically for project work.
