Job summary

Onterris is seeking a Process Controls Engineer II to join our San Diego, CA office. You will support the design and delivery of advanced water treatment systems, reporting to the Senior PCE. Responsibilities include control system specs, PLC/HMI selection, and field startup.

Travel up to 25% and a strong safety culture are emphasized. Required are a relevant engineering degree and 2–7 years of experience in process/controls engineering, with familiarity in Rockwell or Siemens environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, process, mechanical, or environmental engineering.
• 2–7 years professional experience in process/controls engineering.
• Familiarity with control hardware and software systems (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 or Siemens STEP 7/TIA Portal).
• Experience with process drawings (P&IDs, PFDs) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Support process control designs for water treatment projects with multiple ongoing efforts.
• Develop control system specifications, narratives, O&Ms, and alarm lists.
• Assist in selection of PLC/HMI hardware and test/commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with design teams, vendors and clients for detailed designs and field installs.
• Produce electrical power/loading calculations and control panel drawings reviews.
• Travel up to 25% for site support and start-up activities.
