Job summary
Helion in Charleston, WV is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support process control and automation at a Fortune 100 manufacturing site. The engineer will support, troubleshoot and improve the control systems, instrumentation and electrical equipment behind safe, reliable plant operations.
Recent graduates with co-op or internship experience are encouraged to apply; 0–5 years in the field is welcome. Structured development, mentoring from senior engineers and a clear path to grow are provided.
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited EE/Mechatronics program
- 0–5 years engineering experience; co-op/internship preferred
- Knowledge of PLCs, DCS, instrumentation and industrial automation
- Strong troubleshooting, communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Support, troubleshoot and maintain PLC and DCS control systems
- Configure and modify control logic, graphics and alarm management
- Specify, install and calibrate field instruments and analyzers
- Tune control loops and improve process stability and efficiency
- Develop and update electrical drawings, loop sheets and control narratives
- Support management of change (MOC), safety reviews and documentation
- Work with operations, maintenance and process engineering on plant issues
- Help carry out capital projects from design through startup
