Job summary

Air Products is hiring a Process Controls Engineer at our Global Headquarters in Allentown, PA. You will be the expert for DCS/PLC automation design and field instrumentation, supporting North and South American facilities that handle O2, N2, He, CO2 and H2, among others.

The role emphasizes collaboration with operations teams, troubleshooting, and implementing improvements while ensuring safety and reliability of critical processes.

Qualifications

BS in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
3+ years in process automation and instrumentation.
Experience with process automation systems and field instrumentation.
Willingness to travel 20–40%, primarily US and Canada.
On-call rotation and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot urgent operational needs for remote facilities (PIs, DCS/PLC, EWS).
Safely implement improvements with multi-disciplinary teams and support maintenance outages.
Support optimization of existing assets, addressing obsolescence and safety/ cost/performance goals.
