Drive stability, capacity, and quality by owning and improving the automation that powers production.Role at a glanceLocation: Richmond, VA (Richmond Manufacturing Center)Function: Primary Processing operations support across maintenance and engineeringFocus: PLC/HMI development, system reliability, data-driven improvements, and troubleshootingCore responsibilitiesProvide technical support during normal and off-business hours (including weekends/holidays) to assure processing meets business needs.Develop and maintain PLC applications and HMI interfaces.Implement control system enhancements that lift process capability and meet demand.Analyze process data to assess health and performance; Canary experience desired.Plan and execute projects leveraging internal union labor and external resources, adhering to union notification processes.Lead reliability workstreams using root cause analysis, predictive maintenance, and failure prevention.Apply engineering standards and best practices to projects and daily operations.Drive continuous improvement in methods, processes, products, systems, documentation, and equipment.Mentor operations and maintenance teams on technical subjects.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.Minimum 5 years of experience with process control systems, instrumentation, sensors, valves, and associated hardware/software (HMIs, historians, digital networks, DCS).Experience with any of the following is desirable: Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, FactoryTalk View, Modicon 984 Ladder/Concept/Unity, Canary, InTouch Standalone and System Platform.Working knowledge of processing and packaging machinery and project structures; mechanical and electrical background.
