Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Summer 2027 Process Control Engineer Coop/Intern to join the Big Island Mill in Virginia. You will gain hands-on experience in designing and implementing control improvements under a dedicated mentor.

The role supports controls throughout the mill, collaborating with operations to apply new technologies and contribute to Advanced Process Control initiatives while focusing on safety and real-world engineering problems.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college degree program in electrical or chemical engineering.
• Eligible for full-time employment in or before 2029.
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot installed systems to improve process control efficiency.
• Partner with operations to implement new technologies for advanced manufacturing.
• Work with mill personnel to identify opportunities and solve problems.
• Involved in controls and automation design, implementation, and support for process control equipment.
• Support optimization and Advanced Process Control efforts.
• Assist with the mill safety program through personal and observed activities.
