Job summary

Georgia-Pacific's Big Island Mill in Virginia is seeking a Fall 2027 Process Engineering CoOp/Intern. You will join a process engineering group supporting pulping, recycle, paper machines and utilities, mentored to gain real-world hands-on experience.

Through the Koch Intern Program, you will learn about Koch, our people, and Principle Based Management during weekly sessions over a 12-week program and gain exposure to opportunities across our network of companies.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in college and in at least the 2nd year of a degree program in Pulp and Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Eligible for full-time employment on or by 2029.
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Understand safe work practices and lead safety by example.
• Collaborate with operations to improve productivity and reduce process variability.
• Support capital projects to innovate technology.
• Increase operator knowledge of processes.
• Build relationships with operators and management to enable knowledge sharing.
• Perform routine testing of key process variables to ensure online process instrumentation accuracy.
• Make appropriate recommendations to facilitate continuous improvement.
• Manage chemical and process changes and/or trials.
