Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Process Control Engineer 2 in Decatur, IL. The work will be done onsite. This is a long-term contract and can lead to permanent employment with our customer. Compensation is $36/hr W2 + full benefits, vision, dental, health insurance, 401K and holiday pay.

Job Description

The main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. A typical manufacturing engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings and read and interpret blueprints. Manages part development and quality feedback loops for New Product Introduction (NPI), Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), and New Source Introduction (NSI) related activities by collaborating with suppliers, design control engineers, value chain engineering, and procurement category teams.

Responsibilities
  • Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.
  • Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.

  • Participates in improving institutional sourcing processes and opportunities.
  • Performs strategic sourcing activities in a controlled environment.
  • Follows relevant standards, policies, and practices regarding strategic sourcing.
  • Assists senior sourcing professionals with strategic sourcing in multiple environments.

Supply Chain Management:

  • Recognizes software systems or components used to manage the supply chain.
  • Participates in supply chain analysis to spot trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Discusses considerations for integrating partner and supplier transactions.
  • Summarizes supply chain considerations for different types of products.
  • Works with a specific part of the supply chain management process.

Typical task breakdown:

  • Implementing product supply strategies aligned with the category management supply strategies to develop, optimize, and integrate a world-class supply network.
  • Escalate supplier quality defects to SDEs for immediate containment.
  • Manage quality feedback loops to apply lessons learned across the supply base.
  • Manage APQP and cost management activities from concept to PPAP to deliver parts at the right quality and cost while meeting timelines, in collaboration with multiple functional areas.
  • Use Teamcenter and Workflow to collaborate with Engineering and Supplier Development to identify supplier sources for buy-level parts.
  • Drive Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) through cost modeling and design for manufacturability.
  • Support and present source change requests to meet Quality, Cost, and Velocity goals at Source Council meetings.

Education & Experience Required:

  • 3+ years of experience
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Supply Chain preferred)
  • Relevant internships may be considered

Additional Technical Skills:

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and computer-generated reports
  • 3D modeling or Creo experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes

  • Should Cost Analysis
  • Engineering and Sourcing Experience in Electrical harness, Nonmetallic and fabrication will be beneficial
  • Supply chain experience is a plus
