Job description

Job Summary

This position provides comprehensive support for all operational control technologies used in plant process controls.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Management reserves the right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time.

  1. Install electrical hardware or software and wire selected devices following state and local codes.
  2. Perform electrical start-ups for new, used, or modified equipment; generate or update operating instructions related to electrical components.
  3. Assist in designing layouts and troubleshooting electrical components.
  4. Program and install PLCs; develop ladder logic diagrams.
  5. Procure and supervise subcontractors for electrical construction tasks such as conduit installation.
  6. Develop and implement a system to keep electrical schematics and drawings current.
  7. Support current control technologies and address service issues as needed.
  8. Maintain an organized archive system for all control programming documents, categorized by plant, type, and date.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience in Control and Automation fields.
  • Experience in industrial environments required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation PLC/SCADA systems.
  • Experience with Rockwell PlantPax System.
  • Strong team collaboration skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong analytical skills.
  • Leadership qualities; ability to direct personnel.
  • Ability to work independently; make timely and accurate decisions regarding production and process quality.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent walking, standing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and crouching.
  • Ability to push, pull, move, or lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Regular reaching with hands and arms.

Work Environment

Work is performed in plant environments with exposure to high heat and cold, as well as in office settings. Travel up to 40% may be required, including potential weekend and holiday work.

Preferred Locations: Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, Missouri, or Kansas.
