Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb Co is seeking a Scientist for Chemical Process Development in New Brunswick, NJ. You will design and optimize chemical processes for drug candidates, focusing on safe, scalable, and robust syntheses to support clinical programs.

Role requires strong training in organic chemistry and proficiency in purification/analysis techniques. Collaboration with analytical chemistry and engineering teams is essential as we translate lab work to manufacturing and regulatory filings.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in organic chemistry or related field with 0–3 years of additional research experience, or MSc in organic chemistry or related field with 4–8 years of experience.
Strong background in synthetic organic chemistry and understanding of reaction mechanisms.
Experience in purification and characterization of organic compounds (Chromatography, NMR, MS, IR).
Excellent oral and written communication and collaborative teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Route scouting and design of safe, efficient and robust chemical processes for drug candidate synthesis.
Design and execution of experiments; analyze, compile and share data with project teams.
Develop knowledge to support transition from labs to clinical supply and regulatory filings.
