Job summary

Henkel's Adhesive Technologies business unit in Lexington, MA, is seeking a chemist to evaluate existing and new synthetic routes for monomers, polymers and coatings, and to define scale-up strategies. You will contribute to selecting viable pathways and raw materials, aiming for high-quality products with optimized yields and lower costs.

In this role you will work safely in the laboratory, pilot plants and manufacturing environments, lead safety initiatives, and collaborate with internal

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• 1-3 years experience chemical lab experience or chemical plant experience.
• Synthetic benchtop laboratory experience on a scale from 50mL to 6L.
• Experience with analytical testing techniques, specifically GPC, FTIR, and GC.
• Production plant or pilot plant experience is nice to have but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate synthetic routes for monomers/polymers and coatings to define scale-up strategies.
• Contribute to selecting viable pathways and raw materials to improve yields and reduce costs.
• Work safely day-to-day in the laboratory and help lead safety initiatives.
• Demonstrate processes in lab, pilot and manufacturing with equipment recommendations.
• Collaborate and maintain interactions with internal stakeholders and suppliers of raw materials.
