Job summary

Timken seeks a part-time Process Automation Technician for the Professional Experience Program. You will assist in developing, delivering, and enhancing technical processes that align with organizational goals.

This role emphasizes automation, data handling, and user-friendly tooling. You will work closely with engineers and managers to identify opportunities, build scripts, and support operations while upholding safety and confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or technical school (undergraduate or relevant post-secondary programs).
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
• Ability to commit to the program schedule and comply with safety and confidentiality requirements.
• Proven experience in technical training, instructional design, or a related field.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with department managers, engineers, analysts, coordinators, HR, finance, and other stakeholders to gather opportunities.
• Analyze routine administrative tasks and identify automation opportunities; provide business cases, cost impact, and priority rankings.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain automation scripts and tools (e.g. Python).
• Build utilities to extract, transform, and load data from spreadsheets, CSVs, and internal systems.
• Create simple user interfaces, command-line tools, and scheduled jobs.
• Document code, produce user guides, and write clear instructions for non-technical users.
• Follow data privacy and security best practices.
• Provide ongoing support and troubleshoot automation issues.
