Job summary

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) seeks a Process Architect to apply expertise in pharmaceutical facility layout, GMP-adherent design, and operational functionality. You will optimize material and personnel flows while supporting expansion and long-term maintainability, collaborating with engineering and operations teams across large capital programs.

The role requires deep knowledge of GMP requirements, cleanroom zoning, and multidisciplinary project execution for facilities exceeding

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of GMP facility planning or design experience supporting pharma/biotech/vaccine facilities.
  • Experience with cleanroom zoning, manufacturing adjacencies, and contamination control.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical facility design principles and GMP requirements.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on capital projects >$500M TIC.
  • Preferred PMC/Owner’s Representative experience for >$1B TIC.
  • Knowledge of FDA, EMA, ISPE standards.
  • Experience with facility programming and operational readiness planning.
  • Familiarity with CQV and validation requirements.
  • Professional registration or relevant industry certification.

Title:

Process Architect

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.

KBR is seeking a Process Architect to provide specialized expertise in pharmaceutical facility layout, manufacturing adjacencies, cleanroom zoning, material and personnel flow, contamination control strategies, and operational functionality. This role ensures that facility designs meet current Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements while supporting efficient manufacturing operations, future expansion, and long-term maintainability.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Optimize material, personnel, and operational flows.
  • Support facility expansion, maintainability, and operational performance goals.
  • Coordinate facility planning activities across engineering and operational teams.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience supporting GMP facility planning or design supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or vaccine manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience with cleanroom zoning, manufacturing adjacencies, and contamination control.

  • Experience successfully working with multidisciplinary project teams on capital projects in excess of $500M TIC.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • Prior experience within PMC or Owner’s Representative organizations for capital projects in excess of $1B TIC.
  • Knowledge of FDA, EMA, ISPE, and industry design standards.
  • Experience supporting facility programming and operational readiness planning.
  • Familiarity with CQV and validation requirements.
  • Professional registration or relevant industry certification.
