Job summary
Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) invites applications for an Operations Specialist 2 in the Weapons Facility Operations Division. The role focuses on technical writing, procedure development, and readiness activities to ensure facilities operate reliably and in compliance with DOE and LANL policies.
You will collaborate with engineers, technicians, and program staff across multiple facilities, coordinating documentation, schedules, and readiness assessments while applying Lean Six Sigma
Qualifications
- Associate degree and 4 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience developing and maintaining technical procedures or controlled documents.
- Ability to translate technical information into clear, user-focused documentation.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to technical and administrative documents.
- Speak and write on behalf of the WFO division across media.
- Coordinate with internal and external customers.
- Research and apply best practices in procedure writing and readiness.
- Ensure work products meet DOE and LANL requirements.
- Perform routine facility walk-downs and assist in assessments.
- Track and schedule readiness actions; serve as program contact.
