Job summary

IU Health is seeking expert Registered Nurses to collaborate with the brightest minds in medicine and advance healthcare for all. The role focuses on surgical preparation, coordination of pre-op activities, and close work with physicians and clinical staff in a fast-paced urology practice.

Schedule options include Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm or four 10-hour shifts. No nights or weekends required, with a patient-centered, team-based care environment designed to support professional growth.

Qualifications

• Requires active Indiana RN license or NLC RN license.
• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/other ALS may be required per unit.
• Two years ambulatory setting experience preferred.
• Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient history, medications, allergies, and risk factors.
• Review pre-op tests and records and arrange tests per protocol.
• Coordinate lab work, EKGs, imaging, and outside records; ensure they reach the clinician and are uploaded.
• Flag abnormal results or missing information for the surgeon/anesthesia team.
• Provide patients with medication, fasting, and appointment instructions.
• Follow up to resolve outstanding requirements and prevent delays.
• Educate patients about procedure and post-op concerns.
• Assist with triage and clinical procedures as needed.
